Yes, yes, this traditional solution known from rural outhouses, storage rooms and pantries is still in fashion and still fulfills its function perfectly. Its undoubted advantages are simplicity, easy installation and low costs. Made of metal, it emphasizes the rustic character of the interior, and thanks to its uncomplicated structure based on only two elements, it is perfect for playing with the form.

We can choose the simplest model available in DIY stores, but we can also try a sliding door lock in the form of a hook, made specially for our order. In this case, we are only limited by our imagination, because we can play with shape, decorations or color. It is up to us whether the hook closure will blend in with the background of doors and walls or, on the contrary, will contrast with them.

The second type of locks for sliding doors are latches. As in the case of hooks, they are simple, relatively cheap and offer a wide range of arrangement options, and also allow for a more stable closing of the door. The latches can be installed in a variety of configurations that other types of sliding door locks do not allow. The classic variant is a combination of two door leaves or a wing with a wall using a bolt. In the latter case, it will be necessary to mount an additional batten on the wall. The latch can also be placed at the bottom of the door - then the closing bar is embedded in the floor. This solution is well known, for example, from entrance gates. Another way that creates a very interesting visual effect is the combination of a bolt with a lever in the form of a handle.

If we cannot do without a solid closure, choose a hook lock, but if this is not the most important thing, a hook or one of the types of deadbolts will suffice. The same applies* to the aesthetic values ​​and matching to the style of the interior: in some rooms minimalist solutions are better, in others industrial, and in others more elegant.
